For health emergencies call 112

112 is the emergency telephone number in the Faroe Islands.
It must be used for emergency calls only, when people are seriously injured or ill and need immidiate treatment.

GP service 1870

If it is not an emergency situation, please call your GP.

After normal working hours (4pm- 8am) and during weekends, our GP service is available at telephone number 1870, located at the hospital.

Hyperbaric oxygen treatment chamber for DCI/DCS

The National Hospital does provide 24/7 hyperbaric oxygen treatment service for diving related illness (DCI/DCS) with on call consultants and clinical and technical support staff.
The Unit has access to the hospital's on-site helipad for reception of casualties via rescue service or navy helicopter.

All foreign visitors are entitled to emergency treatment in case of accident, sudden onset or worsening illness, as well as childbirth, on an equal footing with persons residing permanently in the Faroes.
